Q. Can I get a ticket for driving with a broken Windshield?
A.
Yes! The fine for a broken windshield in the Twin Cities can be as high as $170.

Q. Should I wait until warmer weather to get my windshield replaced?
A.
No. Cold weather can cause the crack to grow and weaken your windshield even further. In the coldest winter months, we even have a special adhesive we can use to ensure proper bonding.

Q. Do I need to contact my insurance agent before I call The Auto Glass Installed Company?
A.
No! We’re expert at verifying your coverage, filing the claim and handling all the paperwork. Typically all our customers have to do is participate in a conference call between us the the insurance company to confirm coverages.

Q. Who bills my insurance company for auto glass replacement?
A.
We handle the paperwork. We confirm your glass coverage and and we will submit the claim to your insurance company.

Q. What if I don’t have full glass coverage?
A.
We’ll double check with your agent and if you have a deductible, you may have to pay a portion when we finish replacing your windshield.

Q. What if I don’t have any glass coverage?
A.
We’ll give you a competitive cash quote and you’ll receive the same high quality glass and superior installation that you would receive if you were covered.

Q. Will an auto glass claim cause my insurance rates to go up?
A.
No. Minnesota is a “no-fault” state. Your windshield replacement is classified as a “No Fault Claim” and will have no effect on your rates, premiums, or your standing with your insurance company.

Q. My windows are rolled up but I hear wind noise. What causes that?
A.
Sounds like your windshield is not properly bonded to your car’s pinch-weld. The industry calls these “Leakers” and they can be caused by a number of things; poor fitting glass, wrong adhesive, untreated rust in the pinch-weld or your new windshield wasn’t given enough time to set.

Q. What happens if you put in a new windshield and it leaks?
A.
We offer a lifetime warrantee against installation errors. In the event that your windshield leaks, we will fix the problem free of charge for as long as you own the vehicle.

Q. I’m not sure if I need a chip repaired or a windshield replacement?
A.
This is our most common question. Our best practice is to schedule your service. Once our technician arrives on-site, they can inspect the vehicle and determine the best course of action. If it’s repairable they’ll do it right away. If it isn’t, they will discuss your options and schedule the new glass installation for as soon as is convenient for you.
